The Ukraine Facility Platform works on the strategic transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector by creating the conditions and opportunities to attract private investment for building a resilient, decentralized energy system – one that can withstand Russian attacks and is anchored in Ukrainian communities.
Such an energy system should be capable of meeting regional needs and supporting further economic development, while the regulatory framework should facilitate the integration of the Ukrainian and European energy markets.
We promote the following ideas:
- transitioning from a centralized energy model vulnerable to Russian attacks to distributed generation;
- developing local energy systems using renewable energy technologies and energy storage solutions to ensure an optimal generation mix tailored to regional needs;
- eliminating regulatory and market distortions;
- strengthening corporate governance in the sector and ensuring transparent market rules.
Our focus is to create conditions under which decentralized energy becomes widespread, economically viable, and attractive to investors, communities, and businesses.
