The Ukraine Facility Platform convenes stakeholders to plan Ukraine’s decentralized energy future
Berlin, June 10th – The Ukraine Facility Platform (UAFP), Ukrenergo, and Green Deal Ukraine joined forces in Berlin to lay the groundwork for a decentralized energy future for Ukraine. The “Strategies in Action” event, held just before the Ukraine Recovery Conference, and brought together more than 70 key stakeholders to discuss concrete plans and projects.
The event focused on overcoming current energy challenges and charting a path towards a more sustainable, secure, and efficient energy system for Ukraine. Solar, wind, gas piston, biomass power plants, and energy storage systems were highlighted as key areas for development. Representatives from Ukrainian and European businesses, policymakers,international financial institutions, local communities, and key banks participated in the discussions.
The UAFP aims to leverage decentralized energy generation to empower small and medium-sized businesses, attract international investment, and empower local communities. Specific projects and initiatives were identified to address existing hurdles and create a cleaner, more energy-independent future. The UAFP emphasized the importance of collaboration and resource mobilization to achieve a decentralized energy future.
